Creating a Product
Merchants can easily create and manage products to offer in their online store. Follow these steps to create a product, set its pricing, variants, and availability, ensuring it is ready for customers to purchase.
- Go to Admin > Products > Create a Product.

Set up Product Info Page.
- Main Menu Product Image: The primary image displayed for the product in the main menu.
- Alternative Text: Descriptive text for product images to improve accessibility and SEO.
- Product Name: The name of the product displayed in the store.
- URL Address: Automatically generated from the product name. It does not accept special characters or spaces and has a maximum character limit of 50.
- POS Name: The name of the product as it will appear in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Product Category, Subcategory, Label: Assign product categories and subcategories to help organize products within the store. Labels can be used for additional grouping or identification.
- Internal ID: Unique identifier for the product used internally for tracking purposes.
- Inventory Tracking: Default set to "YES." Enables automatic tracking of product inventory.
- End-of-day Rollover: Option to roll over unsold inventory to the next day.
- Age Restricted: Option to restrict products based on customer age requirements.
- Internal Product: Mark the product as internal if it’s used for internal purposes only and not sold to customers.
- Tax-exempt: Mark the product as tax-exempt if applicable.
- Show on Sample Menu: Default set to "YES." Enables product to be visible in the sample menu.
- Add-on: If enabled, the item will not appear on the menu but will show in the add-on pop-up for upsell options. Only available for fixed quantity tiers.
- Do not show Ingredients or Nutrition on Website: Option to hide product ingredients and nutrition information from being displayed on the product page.
- Set up Variants: Configure product variants (e.g., sizes, colors) if applicable. Read more about: How do I set up Product Variants?
- Add SKU and UPC: Enter SKU and UPC codes for inventory and barcode tracking.
- Upload Additional Product Images: Upload extra images to showcase different angles or details of the product.

Set up Product Details Page:
- Page Title: The title of the product page that appears in the browser tab and search engine results.
- Page Description: A longer, more detailed description of the product that can appear on the product page itself, providing key details like features, benefits, or ingredients.
- Short Description: This description will appear on the product card on the menu when this setting is turned on. This is not required. The character limit is 87.

- Meta Description and Keywords
- Canonical tag: Original Product URL

Add details for Ingredients/Nutrition:
- Ingredients and Nutrition can be added per variant if needed. Default ingredients and nutrition info that will display on the product details based will be based on the default variant selected on the product info page.

Set up Associated and Swap Products
- Associated Products: These products will appear as recommended on the product details page.
- Swap Products: If product is unavailable, system will automatically swap it to the product listed in this section. If no swap product is listed, system will replace it with a random product within the same category. Read more: How to set up Swap Products?

- Add Fulfillment Notes
- Add Custom Data.
- Click Save Changes.
