How to enable billing address requirement at checkout?

Merchants now have the option to require a billing address at checkout. This enhances looks to address fraud prevention measures and bolsters transaction security

  1. Go to Online Store > Templates Checkout.
  2. Click on Edit Properties.

When enabled, customers will be prompted to enter a billing address during the checkout process within the payments section.

Guest Customers/Customers without saved payment methods: 

  • Orders for Pickup - Customers are required to input their billing address information.
  • Orders for Delivery - Customers have the option to deselect the box if they wish to provide a different billing address. By doing so, a checkbox labeled "Billing address is same as delivery address" will automatically be checked, simplifying the process by hiding the option to enter a separate billing address.

Returning users with saved payment methods:

  • The system will automatically fill in default payment methods with the corresponding billing addresses.
  • Adding a new payment method triggers the same process as described above.
