Configuring Base Price for Meals

Merchants can now set a Base Price for each meal in their catalog. This ensures compliance with HSA/FSA requirements and helps calculate the portion of a meal that may be eligible as a qualified medical expense.

How to Configure Base Price

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Go to Admin V2 → Products.
  2. Use the search bar to find the product you want to configure.
  3. Select the product from the search results list.
  4. Click Edit Product.
  5. Navigate to the Pricing section.
  6. Enter the Base Price for the meal.
  7. Click Save to apply your changes.

Important Notes

  • Base Price is required for all meals that are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Omitting the Base Price can create compliance issues.
  • Prado recommends using $3.78 per meal, based on the USDA Moderate-Cost Plan (June 2025).
  • Merchants have the final authority to adjust the Base Price as needed for their operations.

Tip: Always double-check that all HSA/FSA eligible meals have a Base Price set before publishing or updating your catalog to maintain compliance.
