Configuring Base Price for Meals
Merchants can now set a Base Price for each meal in their catalog. This ensures compliance with HSA/FSA requirements and helps calculate the portion of a meal that may be eligible as a qualified medical expense.
How to Configure Base Price
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Go to Admin V2 → Products.
- Use the search bar to find the product you want to configure.
- Select the product from the search results list.
- Click Edit Product.
- Navigate to the Pricing section.
- Enter the Base Price for the meal.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Important Notes
- Base Price is required for all meals that are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Omitting the Base Price can create compliance issues.
- Prado recommends using $3.78 per meal, based on the USDA Moderate-Cost Plan (June 2025).
- Merchants have the final authority to adjust the Base Price as needed for their operations.
